Murphy “Sye” Jno Jules has just returned from Fireworks Training in Prineton Florida. He attended an intense training at Firepower Displays Unlimited that climaxed with a massive and complexed diaplay at Pompano Beach. That display included Set Pieces and aerial displays.

Dennison Ikes Jospeh was crowned Dominica’s 2008 Calypso King last night at the Calypso Competition held in Windsor Park Stadium. This is Dice’s fourth victory, having earned the Calypso Monarchy in 2004, 2005, 2006 and now 2008.

The Dutchess Captures the Crown

The 2008 Junior Monarch Competition has just come to its conclusion and Donna Lee Peters — better known as “The Dutchess” — has been crowned Junior Monarch Queen for the fourth time. She won the Monarcy in 2004, 2006,2007 and 2008

Dominica’s 2008 Junior Monarch Competition was held at Harlem Plaza in Newtown on January 17th.

The final results are as follows:

1st Place (Junior Calypso Monarch): The Dutchess
2nd Place (1st Runner Up): Madame Spicket
3rd Place (2nd Runner Up): The Prophet
4th Place (3rd Runner Up): The Advisor

This was the third victory in a row for The Dutchess. Her winning song was entitled “True Reflections.”

Go Girls Inc. Carnival Band “VISIONS 2008″ Crowned best carnival band of the year. Photos show queen of the band Mykala Meade in her splendor as she paraded the streets of Roseau on Carnival Monday and the Souswell Souris section of the band during the judging of the bands.
